Voodoo Flossing - the Shoulder
In this instance we are maintaining the shoulder joint.
Position of the flossband is to work proximally to distally meaning that the flossband is wrapped from closer to the body in the direction away from the body.
Note the flossband is always wrapped 50% tension and 50% overlapping the previous wrap.
The first exercise: The bicep curl is the first exercise to do under stress. Work on flexing the bicep and extending the tricep in the two movements.
The second exercise includes an internal /external rotation. In this rotation the tension is held while moving the forearm down, and when raising the forearm again.
Fascia systems
The sliding and gliding effect is so important for the health of the body. The fluid movement helps maintain the body.
Fascia isn’t just connective tissue. Fascia includes blood and your nervous system.
If the nervous system is housed in the Fascia, then we need to influence the Fascia if we are to effect change on the nervous system. That makes fascia very important in the effective functioning of the body.
Contra Indications
If you have had a recent injury – don’t floss.
If you have an injury downstream from the area of flossing – don’t floss.
If you open wounds downstream from the flossing area – don’t floss.
If you battle with heart disease – don’t floss.
